Independent maritime audits

Audits

Independent audits that show where you really stand.

Checked against the frameworks charterers, vetting inspectors and the regulator actually apply. At sea and ashore, in Australia and worldwide.

01

Pilotage audits

Port and coastal pilotage, independently verified.

How pilotage providers, ports, ship operators and companies manage pilotage, audited against the rules that apply: Marine Order 54 for coastal pilotage, state and port requirements for port pilotage, and the provider’s own SMS. Passage planning, under-keel clearance, BRM, fatigue, towage, VTS reporting and pilot boarding. Includes AMSA audit readiness and check pilot preparation.

Vessel navigation audits

Benchmarked to DryBMS and RightShip RISQ.

Exempt master audits

Pilotage exemptions, coastal and port.

Coastal exemptions assessed against MO54 (2026); port exemptions against each port authority’s own rules. Competence, currency and under-keel clearance decisions, evidenced on the bridge to IMO Model Course 1.30.

Bridge team operational audits

The bridge team, observed and upskilled in pilotage waters.

We observe how the bridge team works together in operation in pilotage and restricted waters: passage planning, the master-pilot exchange, communication, monitoring, handovers and challenge-and-response. Then we work with the team to build best practice into how they operate every time they enter pilotage or restricted waters.

How an engagement runs

Brief

A call to understand the vessel, port or problem and what decision the work needs to support.

Scope

A fixed scope, the frameworks we will audit against, timing and a clear fee. No surprises.

On board and ashore

Observation on passage and under pilotage, document review and interviews with the people doing the job.

Report and close-out

Findings ranked by risk, each with a practical corrective action and an owner. We debrief your team, track every item to close-out and verify the fix on board or ashore when asked.
