Southern Cross Consultancy
Who we are
Southern Cross Consultancy is the advisory arm of Southern Cross Maritime, an independent maritime consultancy based in Queensland and working worldwide. We audit, investigate and train for ship owners and operators, ports and pilotage providers, at sea, under pilotage and ashore.
How we work
We work at arm’s length. Our findings answer to the evidence and to the standards that charterers, vetting inspectors, insurers and the regulator actually apply, and to nothing else. Every engagement is scoped with you, delivered on the agreed dates and reported in plain language that a board, a master or a court can act on.
Our people
Our team is made up of experienced master mariners, marine pilots and industry specialists who have done the jobs they assess and have run the business ashore. We bring the right people together for each engagement rather than a fixed roster. The consultancy is led by Captain Campbell Griffiths, Principal. See his credentials.
What we stand for
Excellence. Work done to the standard a regulator, a vetting inspector or a court would expect.
Partnership. We work with your people, not around them, and leave them better placed than we found them.
Safety. Every decision rests on three priorities, in order: safety of life, protection of infrastructure, protection of the environment.
Where we work
Worldwide. Our home base is Queensland, and the team works in every Australian port and across the Great Barrier Reef. Beyond Australia we go wherever the ship, the port or the problem is, and much of the document review and reporting is done remotely, so distance is never the issue.
